Lights of Love for Cats, Tree House Humane

Lights of Love celebrates the season at Tree House Humane Society, and remembers those no longer with us. It's a beautiful event with thousands of Italian lights in and around the Tree House. Each light represents a pet or person to be remembered. It's a family friendly event, and not fancy - dress as you like....though if you wear shorts, even in the heated tent, it may be breezy.

Learn how how you can still make a donation, and light a light for a person or pet you remember. Lights are $10.

At $50. a donation will get you a tribute light, and you'll receive a custom tree house cat ornament - made of catnip seed paper.  Plant the ornament and you'll grow catnip (it's legal, don't worry)

For a $100 donation, you'll get a tribune light, a custom Tree House cat ornament, plus a 2014 Tree House Calendar.

Doors open for Lights of Love at 4 p.m.. The highlight candle lighting ceremony and reading from me of the Rainbow Bridge at 6 p.m. I've been honored to partake in this even for many years now.

There will be ongoing shelter tours throughout the event, an opportunity to meet shelter leadership and learn about our new shelter and capital campaign to build it.

A holiday bizarre features lots of goodies for people and for cats. And there will be live entertainment, and munchies (for humans).

And for 'fans' of Tree House a special surprise presentation. I will also answer cat (or dog) behavior questions, and talk about a book, which I helped to edit, written by the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists  called "Decoding Your Dog,"available now on Aamazon.com.

Tree House Humane Society is at 1212 W. Carmen (a few doors west of Broadway). Admission is $5 and/or pet food (for the Tree House Pet Food Pantry).

Parking is at the 5031 Broadway garage.
