Lesson Learned, Eating Too Many Bugs Can Kill You
Really is a needless tragedy. Edward Archbold, seen here eating bugs, died moments later

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla., Oct. 8  --According to UPI, a 32-year-old Florida man ate dozens of cockroaches and worms to win a contest. That's the good news. The bad news is that he died.

Edward Archbold of West Palm Beach went outside after winning the contest at the Ben Siegal Reptile Store in Deerfield Beach, FL on  Friday Oct. 5. He collapsed, and was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy was to be performed to determine the cause of death.

No other contestants got sick, according to news reports.

Contest rules posted online said the winner would be "the guy or gal that eats the most bugs in 4 minutes without vomiting." Apparently Archibald consumed dozens.

His prize for winning the "Bugs for Balls" competition was a female Ivory Ball python.
