WGN Radio Petcast: Ticks Spread Disease in Cities; Chicago Canine Cruise; Josh Duhamel on PETsMART Adoption

Listen HERE to this WGN Radio PETCAST (may take a moment to load). The price for a PETCAST, free. The value of a PETCAST, priceless.

Dr. David Gonsky speaks about ticks - they're already everywhere. More ticks than you might think, even in the city of Chicago.  And where there are ticks, there is tick disease. Aside from Lyme Disease (which you might want your dog protected for), there a cocktail of other diseases which ticks carry. So, tick protection - even for urbanites - may be necessary. We also talk about heartworm, and fleas.

Dr. Gonsky's clinic is certified by the American Animal Hospital Association, and how that certification makes a difference to you -- the pet owner.

The Chicago Canine Cruise began on my WGN Radio show -- and now cities elsewhere are following in Chicago's wake. Mercury Chicago's Skyline Cruiseline offers the canine cruise at 10 a.m. Sundays throughout the rest of the summer -- that means all social dogs are welcome. Holly Agra is a favorite guest, and she points out her architecture cruises for dogs will point out the city's oldest fire hydrant and the parks with the most squirrels.

Actor Josh Duhamel celebrates PETsMART Charities adopting five million pets since 1994 with a campaign called High-Five for Pet Adoption. I get very personal with the actor (married to singer Fergie).
