WGN Radio Petcast: Lawrence Kasdan 'Darling Companion,' Cubs & Animals, Pets on Titanic, Duffy

Filmmaker and screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan's latest movie, "Darling Companion" stars a dog. And he tells me, it's all based on a true story. The movie also includes Diane Keaton, Kevin Kline, Diane Weist, Sam Shepherd and other familiar folks. Kasdan, who's movies included "The Big Chill," "Raiders of the Lost Ark," "Empire Strikes Back." "Return of the Jedi," and "The Bodyguard" talks about what it's like to lose and search for a dog.

And just when I thought that in over 15 years of hosting pet radio I've covered everything - here's a new one: Pets on the Titanic - with Joseph Edgette of Widener University.

"100 Things Cubs Fans Should Know & Do Before They Die." The author, Chicago sportswriter and ChicagoNow.com Community Manager Jimmy Greenfield, talks about the real story (there are several versions out there) about the goat at Wrigley Field....and of course, there's the story of Ron Santo and the black cat.

Gary Porter, author of "Duffy: The Tale of a Terrier" talks about the tale (not the tail).
