I am glad the woman and her cats are ok. What's most fascinating to me about this story is that the alligator watched the cats use a doggy door, and figured out how to use it. Alexis Dunbar came home to find a gator in her bathroom. Alligators haven't survived millions of years for no reason.
In fact, these indoor/outdoor cats are lucky to be alive if there are many alligators outside Dunbar's door. If an alligator took a cat outside, my response is 'this is what alligators do.' She sealed the doggy door (which is apparently meant for her cats), so she learned her lesson. This is why I am advocate for keeping cats indoors (when you can). I really think this gator should have been relocated, not destroyed.
