This is quite an organization - BraveHearts Therapeutic and Riding Center. Through horseback riding, lives are changed. The human and equine volunteers here serve people coping with physical, mental and emotional changes to rebuilding confidence, strength and self-esteem.
And it works! Lives are changed.
I want to know what's going - how does it work that riding horses changes lives? How is riding a horse physical and also psychological therapy?
It's fascinating, and we'll learn more, Saturday July 31, 2 p.m. CT on Steve Dale's Pet World, 890-AM, WLS.
Guests are: Dr. Rolf Gunnar, retired Cardiologist and Chairman of the Board of BraveHearts;
Marge Tautkus- Gunnar, founder of BraveHearts and BraveHearts Executive Director Sherri Butler, Physical Therapist (licensed and certified) who practices hippotherapy. She is AHA and NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association) certified in Therapeutic Riding.
We'll also give you details on an upcoming BraveHeart benefit which Betty White will be at.
