I had planned on speaking with Gordon Grice, the author of Deadly Kingdom: The Book of Dangerous Animals for around 20 minutes. However, I found our conversation so interesting, I went the entire hour on Steve Dale's Pet World 890-AM WLS On Demand Petcast. (Just click the link to listen - it's easy)
The book details stories of when nature and people collide - and as a result of bear attacks, people die. Or did you know, in India alone 10,000 to 20,000 people die of snake bites. Australia has spiders that can deliver quite the bite on land, and sharks in the water. Do you really want to know what the chances are of swimming of the coast of Florida or California and being nailed by a shark? The good news is that there aren't all too many shark attacks that happen in Lake Michigan. How often are lions or leopards really man-eaters? The stories Grice tells might make you tingle, just a bit. That's why I kept going with this interview; I hope you think it's as interesting as I did.
