On Wednesday, August 13, I had the chance to join more than 1,200 Chicagoans at Chicago’s Navy Pier ballroom for Taste of the Nation® Chicago benefitting No Kid Hungry. The annual tasting event, featured the city’s top chefs, sommeliers and mixologists, raised $280,000 for No Kid Hungry, which is ending childhood hunger in America. According to the press release, the funds raised at the event will help feed kids in need up to 2.8 million healthy meals and will support No Kid Hungry’s work to ensure all children in this nation have the healthy food they need, every day. Local beneficiaries include the Greater Chicago Food Depository, The Illinois Hunger Coalition, and Share Our Strength’s Cooking Matters ® Illinois program, a partnership with EverThrive Illinois.
While I was there I managed to stuff in at least 30 different bites and beverages and capture the attending chefs in action, plating, networking, and overall having a great time!
