This year 13 different chefs and restaurants participated in the grilling competition that draws chefs from all corners of the city. I was able to try 11 out of the 13 creations and captured images of each one!
I attended this event last year as well and was pleased to see some of the same chefs and restaurants participating again. I was particularly pleased that one of my favorites, Chef Jupiter from Frontier was returning to compete. Last year he served a whole alligator, so this year I was excited to see what he was cooking up. You can read about my whole animal experience at Frontier, in which our party consumed a wild hog, in one of my other blog posts!
Here is a list of all the competitors:
• Bernie Laskowski – Park Grill
• Andrew Deuel – Tesori
• Robert Hoffman – City Tavern
• John Caputo – Firehouse
• Pete Coenen – The Gage
• Joseph Rose – Lockwood
• Cory Morris – Mercat a la Planxa
• Derek Simcik – Atwood Café
• Peter Balodinas – Rosebud Prime
• Brian Jupiter – Frontier
• De’Ann Wellwerts – Markethouse
• Matt Pollock – Epic
• Trevor Hoyte – IPO
At the end of the event, after all the voting took place, Mercat a la Planxa took home first place with their grilled Colorado lamb chops with ramp pesto, pickled ramps and migas.
