PGA Golf update: Rose in full bloom; Tiger still not out of the Woods

The hottest player on the PGA Tour is a guy who many thought had a career where he was permanently frozen out of the PGA winner's circle.

In 1998, Justin Rose exploded on the scene with an exceptional 4th place finish at the British Open but followed it up by turning pro and missing 21 straight cuts. Rose climbed back to do well outside of the U.S., but on the PGA Tour where he has spent most of his recent years he never cashed one of those giant winner's checks...until lately. In his last 3 events he has won Jack Nicklaus' Memorial Tournament, took 9th at last week's Travelers, and was champion at this week's AT&T National at Aronimink. Rose has zoomed up the odds board for the British Open starting July 15. The hottest guy in golf is now down to 20-1 according to Bodog. You know's the favorite?
Yep, it's still Tiger Woods at 7-2.

Tiger couldn't break par in any of the 4 rounds this past weekend and remains winless in his 6 tourneys this year. He's 74th on the money list but he's the odds-on fav at St. Andrews. So the question is...If you had to bet right now on which of the two will win The Open, would you go with Tiger or JR?
And for those who asked me to keep the mythical PGA Playoffs bracket going, here's the bracket as of July 5:
