THIS Pat Fitzgerald wouldn't have let others tweet for him, and other NU links

Yes, ok, we all know now that Coach Fitz's twitter account inadvertently pissed off every Chicago's-NBA-Team fan in Chicago.  I'm actually surprised this accidental-tweeting-from-the-account-you-manage doesn't happen more often, to be honest.  We won't go into detail about this, however.  We have much more important things to cover, like this incredible find:

We here at SFTF pride ourselves in scouring the interwebs and introducing to you all of the different "Pat Fitzgeralds" out there, in order to broaden your appreciation for the one we have and open your mind to what else exists in this wonderful world we live in.  That being said, how have we never heard of this guy before?  Did we totally miss that there were two dudes named "Pat Fitzgerald" who were selected to All-American first teams in 1995 and 1996??  He was also a two-time Academic All-American, and was named to the Texas Longhorns' Hall of Honor this past fall.  Impressive.

Personally, as a Bills fan, I'm upset about not remembering that we drafted him with a 7th-round pick in 1997... though we've had more than a few forgettable draft classes, like that year we had 2 first round picks and drafted Ohio State's whole secondary.

Anyway, while the main rags in town have nothing to say other than their recaps of the Purdue drubbing and Twittergate, here's the rest of what our Google search for "Northwestern" turned up this week (after the jump).

Adam Rittenberg does an NU analysis video he probably should have just written out instead (LINK)

At least this one didn't have a freeze frame of him in his house or him about to be eaten by Pat Fitzgerald.  In any event, some unnecessary face time with Adam telling us nothing we don't already know... Kain Colter has to develop his passing, Tyler Scott has to get some sacks, the secondary has to get better.

Kain Colter named #34 QB in the nation by some random BleacherReport blogger (LINK)

Is it just me or is BleacherReport like the VH1 of the blogging world?  It is made up of just random arbitrary "best-of countdown" lists, with weird two-sentence blurbs about each item on the list.  All it is missing is the D-List comedians.  That being said, there you have it.  Kain Colter, #34 QB in the country.  Put it in the books.

Congratulations to Matt Grevers on his unique proposal to Annie Chandler (VIDEO, LINK)

The video is pretty neat (the freeze-frame that shows up when you load the page is priceless), and the article actually hit Yahoo!'s front page yesterday.  Apparently, he wanted to propose to her when she was on the medal stand for her own race, but... she finished fifth.  No problem, Matt just destroyed everyone else in the 100-meter backstroke and proposed on his own medal stand.  Very cool.

NU Feinberg School Developing Mobile App to Detect Depression and Improve Mood (LINK)

If only the athletic department partnered with Feinberg and gave these to NU fans during football season.  It would have been a much... safer... therapeutic giveaway than that game a few years ago where they inexplicably handed out razorblades to fans.
