Lucy, you have some 'splainin' to do...

Kevin Coble has announced he will not return to the Northwestern basketball team after recovering from a foot injury.

This is all very odd, as coach Bill Carmody said a few weeks ago that Coble was on schedule and doing well. However, according to Lindsey Willhite of the Daily Herald, Carmody wasn't necessarily sure about Coble. There must be some kind of issue there.

Coble is basically killing his chance of playing in the NBA, but it's clear his thoughts are elsewhere.

I'm not going to speculate, as I'm sure the reason will come out in the next few days. Sources tell me the discussions have been going on for some time and it wasn't one thing that made him leave.

Sources close to the program say the players didn't even know the final decision before the media found out.
Kevin, we wish you the best, but we sure as hell wish you hadn't left the team.

Now, what is the reason? Got the scoop and some details to back it up? Send us an email to spreadfarthefame (at) gmail.com.
