Weekly White Sox Round Up

Weekly White Sox Round Up

I've been so busy with player previews that last Friday came and went and I didn't post any links.  Back at it:

Over at Fangraphs a very cool look at the strength of schedule for all MLB teams.  You'll note the White Sox have the fifth hardest schedule.  While the differences are small, it still is a good read.

Mark Potash wrote a good piece about Dayan Viciedo and what he needs to do to bounce back from a sub-par 2013.

I love the folks at Sports on Earth.  Since their debut it has been one of my regular stops on the internet morning perusal.  They did a great profile on Don Cooper that has been linked all over the twittersphere.  In case you missed it though, give it a read.

Jack Moore wrote about your favorite White Sox broadcaster as a baseball pioneer.

I don't think Scott Merkin is quite the house monkey that kind of gets painted here, but Craig Calcattera sheds some light on the MLB reporters.

And then there are loads of previews and predictions out there.  Perhaps the most misleading headline belongs to this nugget from South Side Sox.

The always entertaining Cee Angi doesn't do a full on preview, but focuses on the worst of the worst from last year.  Unfortunately, the White Sox are among that bunch.

And for a little repeat business, Jack Moore does that full on preview of the AL Central at Sports on Earth (Man, Jack gets around.)

Of course some of the big boys did there preview thing too.  You can find them here and here.

On an interesting side note:  I called in this week.  I still got work done, but I also got to do some writing.  Working at home, especially work that is much more personally gratifying was just great.  I could get used to that kind of lifestyle.
