Top 6 Reasons I Love Being 33

On the 14th of this month, I made the BIG 33. I received tons of well wishes and the lovely question "How old are you?" floated in the air.

Of course, I got a lot of worried looks when people found out how old I was. Some stepped back as though I would erupt with a tirade of "I'm old fuckers...leave me alone." or "Let me wallow in the agony of being ancient."

When I was in my 20's, I dreaded my 30's. Ignorantly, I thought the good times would end as soon as the clock struck midnight and my 30th birthday arrived. What did I know?

Now, I embrace the season of "trienta y tres" and there's no looking back.

Top 5 Reasons I love Being 33
6. There Aren't Too Many Things That Bother Me:

Before, I would stress out so much at the office due to deadlines that I would get physically ill. My time was no longer my own and it was the lowest point in my life. At least it was until I learned the art of not giving a single f*ck about the things that don't matter.

5. I have not one single solitary strand of gray hair:
Granted, I color my looks pretty good any way.

4. I've got a pretty decent body:
I think I was blessed with good genes but at 33, most things are right where they need to be. I am still trying to figure out how to wear Spanx with a two piece bikini this summer.

3. I have tattoos that I don't regret:
With 7 very tastefully done tattoos, I don't regret any of them. People would always tell me, "What are you going to do when you get old and your tattoos sag?" I tell them that I'll probably look cooler than they will since they'll just have saggy bits and I will have tattooed saggy bits.

2. I ride a bad-ass motorcycle:
When I made 31, I bought my first REALLY LOUD HARLEY (I have to type and say it LOUD). I enjoy the wind in my hair and the wide open road.

As long as I can walk, I will ride.

Just wait until you see my old and saggy tattooed ass on that thing when I am 80.

1. I am able to run and play with my little one:
The most important thing in my life is being able to spend great moments with my daughter, Ivy. Running behind her or playing tea time is the highlight to any day regardless of whether there is sunshine or rain. That is what is most rewarding at this age.

Well, there you have it. I am not wallowing in sorrow because I am in my 30's. I am happy to have made it to another birthday when others haven't been so lucky. You should be happy too, regardless of your age, and do anything and everything you desire while you still can.
