Catching Hell? Make Lemonade!

Catching Hell? Make Lemonade!

When life hands you lemons… Make Lemonade on Purpose!

Is it just me or is everyone catching hell, caught hell or has the gasoline scent lingering in the air? Lately it seems like everyone is experiencing some form of life changing or challenging situations. I know that I’ve had my share of life serving me lemons. I decided that while I may not be able to control what happens to me to a degree I do have control on my outlook and how I choose to handle it!

Sure it's easy to fall down, fall back into previous habits or patterns because that's what we've been conditioned to do or because it's comfortable! Yes even in our dysfunction we find comfort in the chaos.

Our life handing us lemon moments have purpose and in that purpose is a plan! Unfortunately that plan requires us to get uncomfortable, unfamiliar even unsure of its purpose for being in our lives. Lemons leave a sour taste in our mouths, stings a little bit, makes our lips pucker and even add a little zest to our lives.

I've decided that when life hands me lemons that I’m sweet enough to make lemonade, or savvy and bold enough to make lemon drop shots and even driven enough to make lemonade on purpose!

We have to come to a place where we know and understand that we are not our situations or circumstances and that, they do not determine or define who we are or will become! Our situations come into our lives to teach us something about ourselves, and others and to let us know that while we'd like to think that it's about us it really isn't. It's about our purpose!

Our lemons show up in our lives to reveal purpose! While life happens to us, it shows up to let us know who we are and what we are made of. Our lemons show up as reasons, seasons and lessons to embraced, enjoyed, learned and shared.

It is indeed in the "Life hands you lemons" moments that WE have to keep pushing! In our struggles, sadness, sorrow, sickness, frustrations, plans falling apart, in the midst being broken, heart ache and pain we must keep pushing.

Because when life hands you lemons, you now know that lemon is a powerful antibacterial, antioxidant that is capable of cleansing the mouth and the body. It’s high in vitamin C, great for you blood vessels and is great for cooking! Knowing what you know now, how will you create your own recipe for life and live it on purpose when life hands you lemons?
