The Makeup Show makes its triumphant return to the Midwest this weekend!
On Friday evening, a select few artists and press were invited to get a sneak peek at what's in store.
James Vincent, one of the shows' organizers and Lady Gaga's makeup artist (!!!) gave us the 411. Vincent reveals that "The Makeup Show is focusing on education, the needs of the Midwest MUA (makeup artist), diversity in makeup, independent brands and female artists."
Vincent also introduced a few of the featured artists and their brands that will be in attendance this year: Melanie Mills, an award-winning makeup artist, formerly of Dancing with the Stars and currently the key makeup artist for the talk show, The Real!
Melanie introduced her "Ultimate body system," a line of beautiful bronzers and highlighters for the face and body. Melanie also released a line of lip glosses, and the colors are highly pigmented, vegan, and cruelty free! I am obsessed! Definitely check out her line. Next, Danessa Myricks is an amazing artist who is launching her own line of faux lashes this weekend at the show! Let me tell you, they are amazing! Not only are they beautiful, 100% human hair and handcrafted, you will love the names of the different styles. Here are a few: "Thrive," "Euphoria," and "Inspire." "Thrive" is one of my favorites! Make sure you check out all the styles this weekend! Find her lashes here: www.elevationlashes.com
Last but not least, the QUEEN of brows, Eugenia Weston of Senna Cosmetics will be in the house! Eugenia developed this line as one of the first for makeup artists! Tonight, she showcased her line of brow products and palettes. I tested them, and they are highly pigmented and a must-have for your kit or cosmetic bag. I can't wait to get more Senna cosmetics in my kit. She was so gracious to chat with me awhile, and I found her to be such an amazing person, truly humble and she loves what she does and wants to help everyone be their best and succeed. With so much education, companies with amazing products, and did I say education? There is NO reason why you shouldn't head over to the Bridgeport Art Center to attend the Makeup Show! I highly recommend it not only for aspiring and working makeup artists, but for makeup enthusiasts or the Girl Next Door who wants to learn how to apply makeup properly.
If you see me wandering the halls, make sure to say hello! Let's take a selfie!
