Out with the old and in with the new is the classic thought when entering into the New Year.
It’s the time when we make new resolutions, promises and pledges. December 26th is the day that the advertisers focus on becoming a better you through diets, exercise, weight loss and love yourself challenges--even getting insurance. We are purging, cleansing, and getting rid of things that we haven’t used in months.
And research has shown that the New Year is the time of New Beginnings.
I’m all for new beginnings even making new resolutions but none of it will work without a plan and a great support system.
The best made plans are those that you can visualize. Your support system is someone who provides you with checks and balances, someone who holds you accountable.
Make a list and create a timeline or deadline of when you want to have certain goals accomplished. Write your vision but also make them plain with pictures or illustrations.
Make your resolutions fun and exciting to get complete even when some of them may be more work than fun.
Becoming your best self requires planning, sacrifice and give-and-take. It requires that you get up close and personal with you. It entails letting go, giving up, giving in, loving less, loving more, saving less or saving more. Arguing less, smiling more, forgiving others, forgiving self, and struggling less…well, you get the picture.
You may have to sacrifice in order to get closer to your goal.
As the saying goes; “If you keep doing what you’ve been doing, you’ll keep getting what you’ve been getting.” So getting different results call for you do something different.
New Year’s resolutions are not always easy but think of this way… If they were easy, everyone would be doing it.
This is about your journey of becoming your best you. 2012 is coming and I want everyone that’s in preparation for the New to create a visual plan that is tailor made just for you, complete with all of the bells and whistles to remind you that you and your goals matter.
Stay focused and if you get lost, you can always visit your vision to get back on track.
I wish you more Love, Peace and Joy than your heart and hands can hold.
