I love candles. Wait – let me rephrase that: I LOVE candles.
What better way is there to set a warm mood than by lighting a candle? (Or a sea of candles!)
Every domestic lady knows that all homes are much homier with the flickering light & seductive scents of these wax objects. There is even a sizable tag on Single Working Housewife dedicated to them!
As I’m snuggled up at my laptop working on projects that I’m launching before the end of the year (exciting!), I thought I’d take a mini-break to post my ode to candles by sharing my three favorite trickniques for using them:
- When entertaining, place candles in the fridge an hour before guests arrive. When you pull ‘em out, they’ll burn slowly & evenly.
- For unreachable low wicks (often found in glass jars), simply light a piece of dry spaghetti. It turns into an extra-long match like a magic wand! (This is also great for lighting multiple candles.)
- If you plan to light many candles at once for a dinner party or event, char the wicks in advance; they'll ignite faster when you're ready (and possibly rushed) to light up before guests arrive.
Now back to work, as the delicious smell of Yankee Candle’s Vanilla Cupcake wafts about my workspace.
Mmmmm– ahhhhhh.
