The smash hit, Tony award winning Dear Evan Hansen that has been winning raves and playing to sold out audiences in Chicago at James M. Nederlander Theatre, 24 W. Randolph (through March 10) will be coming back to Chicago for a longer stay in the summer of 2020.

If you don't want to pay $200 plus for the few  tickets this time around, you will have a second chance.

Dear Evan Hansen is the deeply personal and profoundly contemporary musical about life and the way we live it. It follows the story of a 17-year-old high school senior who suffers from social anxiety disorder and does not have the courage to talk to anyone at school.

A letter that was never meant to be seen, a lie that was never meant to be told, a life he never dreamed he could have. Evan Hansen is about to get the one thing he’s always wanted: a chance to finally fit in--but will he?

The Chicago Tribune’s, Chris Jones gave Dear Evan Hansen four-out-of-four stars in his review calling it “Intensely emotional,” and “one of those rare Broadway musicals to seep into the consciousness of the audience and succeeds in what matters most – making us care.”

The show is the winner of six 2017 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

Dear Evan Hansen features a book by Tony Award-winner Steven Levenson, a score by Grammy®, Tony® and Academy Award® winners Benj Pasek & Justin Paul (La La Land, The Greatest Showman), and direction by 4-time Tony® Award nominee Michael Greif (Rent, Next to Normal).

Declared “One of the most remarkable shows in musical theater history” by the Washington Post’s Peter Marks, Dear Evan Hansen opened at the Music Box Theatre to rave reviews on December 4, 2016, where it’s broken all box office records and has struck a chord with critics and audiences alike.

Dear Evan Hansen returns to Chicago for a limited 12-week engagement July 7 through September 27, 2020, at Broadway In Chicago’s James M. Nederlander Theatre (24 W. Randolph).
