The World Champion Chicago Cubs (I must confess I love hearing those words) have just released information on the upcoming Cubs Trophy Tour.
“We’re excited to share our cherished trophy with fans this offseason as we celebrate such a historic World Series Championship,” said Cubs Executive Chairman Tom Ricketts. “This year’s World Championship team is unparalleled, and so are our fans. We can’t wait for them to experience the joy of seeing this piece of history in person.”
The Cubs World Series trophy tour kicks off today, Friday, December 9, with a special event at the new official Cubs Team pop-up store at 663 N. Michigan Avenue from noon to 3 pm. where fans are invited to take pictures with the trophy.
Follow the trophy
The Trophy Tour continues on Thursday, December 15, when the trophy will be on view at Chicago City Hall (121 N. LaSalle St.) from 9am to 4pm. Other planned Chicago viewings scheduled include: Cubs Convention in January.
The trophy will hit the road, traveling throughout Illinois in cities including Bloomington, Champaign, Freeport, Peoria, the Quad Cities, Rockford and Springfield.
It will then head to Indiana making stops in South Bend, Indianapolis and other cities. Next stop will be Iowa with Des Moines and other cities on the list.
The trophy will visit Mesa, Arizona, during Spring Training (Feb. 26 through late March) and return to Wrigley Field for the Cubs’ 2017 Home Opener April 10.

Cubs pop-up store
The pop-up store, located on the Mag Mile at 663 N. Michigan Avenue, will be open daily through April 9. Hours are: Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The store will offer an expanded line of products sold at Wrigley Field-- including World Series merchandise, holiday gifts and clothing featuring brands--including Majestic Athletic, New Era and Under Armour--and more.
