Chicago White Sox Holiday Garage Sale: find that perfect gift for your sports fan

Chicago White Sox Charities (CWSC) will hold their annual Holiday Garage Sale this Saturday, December 5 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Magellan Scout Lounge at U.S. Cellular Field.

The garage sale offers a broad range of sports goodies including team apparel, autographed memorabilia, game-used items and promotional giveaways--mostly at garage sale prices (cheap).

Family Field DayNot only can you find treasured items for the sports fans on your list (or maybe even yourself) but you can feel good because the proceeds from the garage sale benefit the White Sox Charities (CWSC) that provide annual financial, in-kind and emotional support to hundreds of Chicago-based organizations, including those who lead the fight against cancer and are dedicated to improving the lives of Chicago's youth through education and health and wellness programs, and offer support to children and families in crisis.

The highlight of this year's sale is the Hammond Elegante organ (pictured here) played at home games by long-time White Sox organist Nancy Faust. The organ will be available for purchase through an online auction on whitesox.com/auction, accessible via your computer or smart phone, beginning at 2 p.m. CT on Friday, December 4 through 2 p.m. CT on Saturday, December 5.

In addition, a computer station will be set up at the Holiday Garage Sale for attendees who wish to bid on the organ on-site. The opening bid is set at $1,000, and the winner is responsible for transporting the organ from U.S. Cellular Field by February 2016.

Fans planning to attend the sale on Saturday can park for free in Lot D/E and enter through Day-Of-Game Employee Entrance in between Gates 2 and 3.

In 2015, Chicago White Sox Charities awarded nearly $1.77 million in grants and other donations.  The most recent contributions moved the team's non-profit arm to over $22 million in cumulative giving since its inception in 1990.
