Chicago Gourmet 2015 returns to Millennium Park this weekend. This is year eight for the hot ticket event that is once again SOLD OUT. If you are lucky enough to have tickets, here are some highlights to help you plan your day.
Check out the the Bon Appétit Main Stage and Bon Appétit Culinary Stage for cooking demonstrations led by esteemed celebrity chefs throughout the day including: Rick Bayless, Emeril Lagasse, April Bloomfield, Paul Kahan, Carlos Gaytan, Jimmy Bannos Jr. and others.
The Bon Appétit Tent
The Bon Appétit Tent is a comfortable and shady getaway filled with plush seating and offering delicious treats, music and a live deejay.
Wine and spirits
Look fore interactive wine and cocktail seminars from Southern Wine & Spirits of Illinois inclucing “Diamond in the Dark: A Sensory Journey through Wine”, “California Terroir…Taste the Vineyard” and “The Rum Diaries”.
American Express Tent
Visit the American Express tent between 3-6 p.m. for some "pop-up" treats, courtesy of some of Chicago's favs including Hoosier Mama's Paula Haney and Esther Lee, a custom, Gold-Speckled Mexican Chocolate Candybar made with love by Dave and Megan Miller of Baker Miller and Duck Mac n' Cheese served up by Executive Chef Jeremy Tannehill of Bar Siena. Plus American Express will be offering up glasses of Prosecco for thirsty guests.
A bustling Global BBQ, Beer & Bourbon pavilion in the South Promenade offers a shady escape plus cuisine from more than 15 Chicago neighborhood restaurants will be serving international BBQ dishes.
Throughout Millennium Park
Hundreds of chefs, renowned winemakers, premium spirit producers, gourmet food chefs and brewmasters presenting their specialties.
Chicago Gourmet, takes place in Chicago's Millennium Park (55 N. Michigan Ave.) today from noon to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
