A new show is coming to town. The Ideal Home Show Chicago comes to McCormick Place this weekend with a bevy of ideas, trends and inspiration to help you make your home sweet home a sweeter place.
The three-day show from January 23 through January 25 offers a one-stop venue to see and learn about the latest in new products and home décor.
David Causton, General Manager of McCormick Place says, "We are pleased to welcome the Ideal Home Show to McCormick Place in 2015 and wish them great success with their inaugural event," explaining that "This show will be a big draw for those seeking new trends and home remodeling ideas from the area's best experts.”
Highlights of the show include:
A Marketplace...Shop 'til you drop.
Outdoor Living...Ahmed Hassan from the original HGTV’s and DIY Networks “Yard Crashers,” will be at the show all weekend with tips and advice on landscaping and green living. Find him on the Ideal Main Stage.
Ask a designer...On-site designers will help with design questions, from completing a basement remodeling project to choosing the best paint color to matching kitchen walnut cabinets. Designers Sandy Berendes and Laura Longville will feature a booth called Ask a Designer......and a "Shrink".
What's Cooking…Shelley Young, the Founder and CEO of The Chopping Block, will share cooking tricks and tips on the Ideal Stage on Saturday, January 24.
DIY…or Ask an Expert...Lowes’ installation experts will be on hand at the Ideal Main Stage all weekend to answer your “Do it Yourself” and remodeling questions.
Wine…Randy Arnold, Barefoot Wine Ambassador, will be share his passion for making wine fun on January 23-25.
Family fun…Check out the fun & games at the Kids Zone, where activities include baggo at the XFINITY booth and a chance to win prizes.
Special events…Paint the town red...or whatever your favorite color at the Friday Night Painting Party with artist Derin Baratka (January 23). A $20 fee includes painting, wine and two tickets to the show.
Lifestyle Lounge…Stop by the SLACK Lifestyle Lounge to take a break and check out Slack's latest designs being featured for the first time in America at this show.

- Hours: Friday, January 23, noon to-8 p.m.; Saturday, January 24, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday, January 25, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
