Even bigger than last year’s show, the 11th Annual Chicago Travel and Adventure Show offers an opportunity to uncover a world of travel ideas from more than 300 exhibitors and enjoy family-friendly activities such as: camel rides, a Segway track, vintage replica trike rides, and a chance to get up close with Alaskan sled dogs and other wild friends from SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment.

The two-day festival offers a blizzard of non-stop activities, events and celebrity speakers including: Cheryl Strayed, Author of the #1 New York Times Best Selling Memoir and Newly Released Film Adaptation, Wild; Television and Emmy award-winning travel editor Peter Greenberg; Samantha Brown, Travel Channel Host; Pauline Frommer, publisher of Frommer Travel Guides and others.

Krista Cheeseman, Wilderness North; Judson Todd Allen, Healthy Infused Cuisine, LLC; Dwight Evans (2013 ACF Chicago Chefs of Cuisine Chef of The Year), of Covenant Village; and Karyn Calabrese, of Karyn’s Raw Bistro and Karyn’s Cooked are just a few of the chefs appearing on the Taste of Travel Stage. The chefs will demo some of their favorite recipes and offer samples on both days--see schedule for times, recipes and chef appearances.

Love to dance?  Then you'll want to spend some time at the Global Beats Stage where you can learn to belly dance, or try your footwork with Nordic Folk Dancing, Mexican Folkloric Dancing, Bollywood and Classical Indian Dancing, Native American Dancing, Indonesian Cultural Dancing, Hawaiian Dancing, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop Dancing, Irish Dancing and Thai Cultural Dancing.

The stage offers two days of culturally diverse dance and music performances representing destinations from around the world where visitors can not only learn to dance but watch the dancers and learn about the artistic and cultural significance of each performance.

From faraway exotic places and adventures to nearby escapes, visitors should be able to find a trip that fits their budget and interests at the Chicago Travel and Adventure Show.

What You Need to Know to Go

Where: Donald E. Stephens Convention Center (5555 N. River Rd, Rosemont, IL)

When: January 17 and 18, 2015.

Hours: On Saturday, January 17, the show opens at 9:30 a.m. for travel professionals, with general public hours set from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. On Sunday, January 18, the show floor opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 4 p.m.

Tickets: Single and two-day tickets are currently available online for a discounted rate of $11 (single-day) and $17 (two-day) with promo code: CHPR, and are also available on-site for $16/$25. Children 16 and under are admitted for free. For tickets and more information, click here.

Ticket winners: Ticket winners will be notified by email by 9 a.m. Wednesday, January 14 (or earlier). The tickets will be held at will-call for pick-up by name on email.
