Festival del Taco: Chicago’s New Summer Fest Celebrates the Stuffed Tortilla

Savor the flavor of Mexico at Chicago’s newest neighborhood festival, Festival del Taco, kicking off in Little Village at 26th Street and Kostner this Friday, May 30 through Sunday, June 1.

Festival del Taco joins some of Chicago's favorite returning fests this weekend including Maifest Chicago in Lincoln Square, Do Division, on where else but Division Street, and the Chicago Veggie Pride Parade at noon Saturday in Grant Park.

Visitors to the fest can bask in the friendly atmosphere that has been described as “a supersized block party" with all the requirements  for a successful community fest including music, arts, crafts, carnival rides and, of course, food and beverages.

The Festival del Taco menu will highlight tasty bites from the Mexican cuisine including: pork carnitas, tortas, tamales, tacos, enchiladas, pambazos and gorditas. The food vendors are: La Mexicana (on Archer Avenue), Juanita's Mexican Foods (on 59th Street), Margarita Portillo-Taqueria la Ciudad (on 55th Street) and Good Shepherd Catholic Church (the event's beneficiary).

Visitors can also expect a lively line-up great entertainment on the music stage. Check out the list below for your favorites and maybe some new sounds.
