Chicago Loop Alliance's (CLA) brand new Holiday Hub rolls out their welcome mat for holiday visitors and shoppers starting today. The Hub will serve as the heart of the loop offering a festive menu of holiday events, entertainment, crafts, food and more.
The Hub is located in a cozy winter cottage dressed in its holiday finest on the Pedway level of Block Thirty Seven, 108 N. State Street.
From State Street’s iconic holiday windows to a one-of-a-kind outdoor European market, the Holiday Hub will unwrap the holiday traditions in the Loop and offer a warm refuge from the cold.
The Holiday Hub also offers a helpful Loop information center, #LoopHolidays, where visitors can get the skinny on loop happenings, dining, directions and more.
Stop by the hub starting at 10 a.m. today (through December 24) for free family-friendly activities including a story corner, arts and crafts, complimentary hot beverages and pop-up programming from beloved Chicago institutions.
Pop-up programming at the Holiday Hub includes
- Appearances by Ebenezer Scrooge from Goodman Theatre’s A Christmas Carol
- German brass band performances by Brass Variety
- Holiday stories read by the Christkind (German Christmas Fairy) presented by Christkindlmarket
- Choir performances presented by Block Thirty Seven
- Performances from the Dusable Museum
- Appearances from Herman der German presented by The Berghoff Restaurant
- Arts and crafts activities led by Chicago artists
- Plus more events to be announced
If you are coming to Chicago for a visit, you may want to check out the CLA's helpful and comprehensive new Chicago Loop website that launches today. The website will give visitors an edge to getting around the Loop with a preview of special events, where to shop, eat and stay plus "festive Loop Lists" featuring itineraries for various winter activities.
Holiday Hub hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays. The hub opens today at 10 a.m. and will be open daily (except Thanksgiving) through December 24.
