Chicago Events June 29-30: Fests, Art Shows, Music and More

With Chicago still on a high from yesterday's over two million person celebration honoring our Chicago Blackhawks bringing home the Stanley Cup with a parade and rally, not to mention, the Fourth of July less than a week away, you might think that the last weekend in June would be a quiet one, but you'd be wrong.

Here are some of Chicago's events for today and tomorrow starting off with the biggest, The Gay Pride Parade. Although the Pride Parade will probably not outdraw the Hawks celebration, nearly one million are expected.

Old St. Pat’s World's Largest Block Party, June 29, West Loop around Madison and Des Plaines.

L.A.T.E. Ride, Saturday night/Sunday morning; June 29/30, Buckingham Fountain (500 S Columbus Dr).

Summer on Southport, June 29 & 30, Southport at Waveland.

Chicago Country Fest, June 29 & 30, Clark at Armitage.

Gold Coast Art Fair,  June 29 & 30, Grant Park, Monroe and Lake Shore Drive.

Calling all Parrotheads to see Jimmy Buffet at Charter One Pavilion on Northerly Island.

Museum of Contemporary Art, new exhibition "Modern Cartoonist: The Art of Daniel Clowes" opens June 29.

Techweek ’13

Melissa Etheridge makes her Ravinia Festival debut on June 29. Tickets: $60-$25/ Lawn $10/ Park opens at 3 p.m.
