Chicago Announces First-Ever Chicago Theatre Week: Coming in 2013.

CHICAGO, Thursday, December 13, 2012. The League of Chicago Theatres and Choose Chicago have just announced Chicago's first-ever Chicago Theatre Week kicking off February 12 through February 17, 2013. It is the hopes of the League and Choose Chicago that Theatre Week will expand the visibility of theatre as a vital industry in Chicago.

Deb Clapp, Executive Director of the League of Chicago Theatres explains, “The goals of Theatre Week are to celebrate Chicago theatre by offering patrons special incentives, expanding the reach throughout all Chicago neighborhoods.  We hope that the initiative inspires a renewed and heightened appreciation throughout Chicago and the Midwest for our rich theatre industry".

Over 100 productions are expected to participate in the event which follows Chicago Restaurant Week making February in Chicago a real showstopper. In conjunction with Chicago Theatre Week there will be special events at participating theatres, including enrichment activities such as talk backs with artists and added value activities such as drink specials, as well as hotel and restaurant discounts.

Tickets will go on sale starting January 9, 2013 for either $15 or $30 offering family and friends alike a chance to see great shows at bargain prices and experience Chicago's outstanding theatre landscape.  They also are a great Valentine gift idea for that special someone.  Tickets for Chicago Theatre Week  can be purchased online at Chicago Theatre Week  .
