Calling All Chicago Cub Diehards.

Chicago, Wednesday, January 26, 2011.  Chicago Cubs fans won't have to wait until next year to strut their Cubbie pride.  The newly designated official Chicago Cubs License plate was unveiled today with Cubs Chairman Tom Ricketts, Hall of Famer Ernie Banks and Secretary of State Jesse White doing the honors.

The plates, which can be ordered at www.cyberdriveillinois.com, not only are a way for Cubs fans to celebrate their team but also a way to support public education in Illinois.  Twenty-five dollars from the $69 license plate fee will go to the Professional Sports Teams Education Fund and is earmarked for the Common School Fund which supports public schools throughout the state of Illinois. Fans who order online can expect to receive their plates starting in early March 2011.

Fans that can't wait until March can head to the Chicago Auto Show (February 10 through February 20) at McCormick Place to purchase a random number Cubs plate on the spot at  the Secretary of State's mobile unit on the convention floor.
