As always Chicago is serving an electic menu of events for the weekend. Get out and make the most of this summer weekend so you can store up some warm memories to get you through the cold days of winter 2010-11.

Friday, August 20, 2010.

Gold Coast Art Fair.

53 years-old and still going strong, the GOLD COAST ART FAIR, a Chicago Tradition featuring nearly 500 of the top local and national artists along with food, drink, live music, children's activities and more.  New location:  Grant Park, Monroe Street and Lake Shore Drive. Today, noon to 7p.m. Through Sunday.

Transformers 3.

In what might be Transformers 3 last hurrah in the Windy City, they will be pulling out all stops with explosionions, smoke and fireballs in the Loop.  West Van Buren Street will be closed today between South Wacker Dr. and South Canal St. from 6a.m. to 3p.m. The LaSalle Street Bridge between West Wacker Dr. and West Kinzie St. will be closed today from noon to 10p.m.

The North Side Summerfest.

The fourth annual fest features live music, food, drink, vendors and arts and crafts. North Center, 4050 N. Lincoln Ave. 5p.m. to 10p.m. Through Sunday.

Megadeth: With Slayer and Testament. Tickets, $9, $38, $58. 7p.m. UIC Pavillion, 525 S. Racine.

Edison Park Fest.

Three days of food, drink, music, vendors and more in Edison Park. 5 - 11p.m. 6730 N. Olmsted Ave. 773 631 0063.  Through Sunday.

Gold Coast Art Fair.

Transformers 3.

Look out above.  Low flying helicopters will be will be hovering in the area of the Chicago River from State St. to Michigan Avenue taking aerial shots for Transformers 3. 8a.m. to 9a.m.

Henri.

A new restaurant, Henri, OPENS TODAY on South Michigan Ave.  The eatery should be a popular distination for the neighborhood with its inimate interior and classic menu.  Named Henri, after architect Louis Henri Sullivan, who designed the building's ornamental facade it fits in well with its cultural surroundings. 18 S. Glenwood Avenue Arts Fest.

The 9th Annual Glenwood Avenue Arts District is a free weekend=long arts festival that features 100+ artists, open studios and live entertaqinment on three outdoor stages.  Rogers Park, 6900 N. Glenwood. Open studios, love entertainment, food and drink. Free. Through tomorrow.

The Mad Decent Block Party.

Headliners include Kid Sister, Blaqstarr and Freddie Gibbs. 1p.m. Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia.

The Black Crowes.
