The Story.

Once upon a time...

There were two guys who worked in Hollywood, Jeff, a screenwriter and Joe, an animator.  They liked their jobs but what they really liked were cookies.  So the two guys packed their bags and traveled east.

They came to Chicago to raise some dough...

When they got to Chicago, they began making Chocolate Chip cookies.  They sold their cookies at DMK Burger Bar (2954 N. Sheffield).  People loved their cookies.  Jeff and Joe wanted to make lots of different kinds of cookies so they decided to open their own cookie store.

The guys created all kinds of cookies...

Jeff and Joe put their heads together to come up with an imaginative mix of ingredients and created an endless array of cookies.

Then they created a place for their cookies...

Bringing their Tinseltown pazazz to Chi-town, the L.A. transplants, Joe Bova and Jeff Steinberg created a retro-vibed home for their cookies.  They colored the space a bright orange and outfitted it with a slim translucent, 38-foot bar with clear plastic stools.

The guys named the space Cookie Bar...

On Tuesday May 18, Joe and Jeff realized their dream.  They opened their Cookie Bar for all to enjoy.  Their bar will offer 18 varieties of cookies a day--six of which are variations on chocolate chip. Some of their more exotic creations include an orange-blossom-and-cardamom cookie, an oatmeal-chile-mango-macadamia-nut cookie, and a caramel laden slow-baked chocolate chip cookie. Their bar also offers Alterra coffee, housemade flavored lemonade and brownies.  In addition, look for their gluten-free baked goods. 2475 N. Lincoln Ave. 773 348 0300.
