I have the ten year bug. We've been in our house for almost 11 years (where did that time go?) and everything is starting to look dated. When I hear something happened a decade ago- I still think they mean the 1990's. It's definitely time for some new furniture. But, with a ten year old boy in the house, I can't justify spending a ton of money on a new couch. Granted neither of my kids were ever "jump on furniture kids," my son still thinks the best way to get on or off our couch is by flipping over the back.
So, I was pretty happy to (accidentally) find Divine Consign, an up-scale furniture consignment shop.
We actually were on a hunt for patio furniture and saw an advertisement for their Memorial Day Tent Sale: 50-90% off outdoor furniture from the Merchandise Mart. Sweet! Too bad we went the last day, almost everything was gone. But, I did discover that Kellie Scott has a pretty awesome shop.
Divine Consign not only sells upscale furniture at bargain prices, they can also help you with staging your home or reupholstering a piece for crazy little money too. You wouldn't expect a consignment store to have its own "design shop," that's just one more reason why they're so unique.
Need another reason why Divine Consign is so cool? You can shop online too! They don't have all of their great in-stock items available on the web, but you can still find some amazing deals. How about this mahogany desk for for around $450. Or maybe this walnut coffee table for under $150!
Though many of the items still have original tags, all consigned items are held to high standards: brand and condition. So, if you're ready for new furniture, go green & save green at Divine Consign. There's a reason why they're Chicago Home & Garden Magazine's 2011 Best Consignment Store in Chicagoland!
Do you have "kid friendly" furniture? What consignment stores do you frequent?
