Day 101: The Cellar Bistro

Based on friends' Facebook comments, it looks like everyone has had a hell of a week and is ready for a glass of wine.  What I could really go for is a good meal.  One that is prepared FOR me with the same level of consciousness to sustainability that I use.  Sounds like it's time to head back to The Cellar Bistro.

While we normally go for special occasions, and it looks relatively fancy inside, Cellar Bistro is anything but pretentious. We've been welcomed and treated wonderfully whether it's "date night" or dinner with the kids.

Open since 2007, they have remained committed to fresh, preservative-free food. You won't find a deep fryer or microwave in their kitchen! Their website even lists some of the local vendors they use: Two Brother's Brewing Company, and nearby Midwest farms for their hormone/antibiotic-free meats.

I have only eaten here for dinner, but they also serve lunch (they have gluten-free menus for both), and a Sunday brunch. My recommendations? Pork Medallions or the Coriander Crusted Scallops (both are served with their delicious sweet potatoes). If you somehow have leftovers, their to-go containers are biodegradable.

Go on a Sunday or Monday and you may catch live music too.
