Day 56: Everyday's a sundae!

Ready for some dessert?  I don't know if it's the warm(ish) weather, but I was jonesing for ice cream.  So, my daughter and I made a special trip to an old favorites.

Everyday's a Sundae has been a Downers Grove staple since 1992, I think I've been going there since day one. Though they've changed locations since they opened, they still only carry Sherman's ice cream from Michigan.

Their new location is only a couple of blocks from their original spot (just on the other side of the tracks), but I have to admit I liked the old location a bit better. Even walking by it reminds me of warm summer nights with my daughter (then a toddler) enjoying ice cream dripping down her hands.

Everyday's a Sundae moved to a larger space, sacrificed a bit of the charm (and customer service), but kept the same great ice cream. Waffle cone, sundae, or just a traditional scoop- some days it's hard to choose.

You have around 40 flavors to choose from: I'm partial to the cappuccino chip, though steal a bite of your kid's scoop of cotton candy!

Spring & summer are getting closer, what's your favorite ice cream shop?

Well my favorite go to in the North Shore is a place called FROST gelato. Just visited their webpage and found out they are now offering franchising opportunities.

However, in keeping with the theme of your blog. Bringing back to Chi-town would be Margie's Candies on Western. And within the last 5 years added a second location on Montrose in an old Fannie Mae location that closed.

Love Margie's too! Even waited in line for over an hour one night for a table to enjoy a sundae. Just wait- there'll be a post sometime about the ice cream store I love- worth the 2 1/2 hour drive!
