Today I'm sharing with you not just a song, but a fan made music video as a whole...because I friggin' love this thing! I hope it brings a smile to your face like it did for me the first time I saw it.
Owl City is another band that I discovered thanks to the power of Shazam, and my own good timing with the radio while inside of a Walgreen's. The song I heard there was "Fireflies," but that prompted me to buy the entire album, which contained the song I'm featuring today called "Meteor Shower." This comes from their album, Ocean Eyes, which I still think is their best album as a whole. Check it out!
The music video below features clips from the Disney movie, WALL-E. Now, I don't know if you've seen WALL-E, but if you haven't, you totally should. This music video features the love story aspect of the movie, which is sweet and cute, but that's not the reason I love the movie. I love the movie because it's not just a movie for kids about two robots in love... it's really a big social commentary on the human race, and I love Disney for not shying away from that aspect. It really focuses on the direction humanity is going... with how much trash we create, to how we are avoiding taking proper care of our Earth, to our laziness and obsession with technology, to our inability to properly know how to communicate with one another, to our desire for quick and easy food and modes of transportation. It wouldn't surprise me if we some day do create robots that have a higher capacity to learn to love and communicate than we, ourselves, do. I surely hope it doesn't come to that... but, in the meantime, I do hope you enjoy this video and this song...
