Chicago Sky's Dreams Keep Coming True

Saturday night's game at the Allstate Arena was another example of how strong and talented our Chicago Sky squad is this year. For a change of pace, I decided to just sit back and watch the game and not take any notes and to write this blog from memory and from personal reactions to certain plays and scoring runs etc. First and foremost, I remember a most awesome SKY hook shot from Sylvia Fowles that made the crowd go wild - including me. It was sweet, pure and oh so athletic! SWOOSH sweet Sylvia. I remember a very strong shot block by our rookie dream player Elena Della Donne on Atlanta's leading scorer Angel McCoughtry's first shot of the game. SWEET swatting Elena. I remember very balanced scoring by our entire team which stood out against the Dream team's spotty scoring, except for Alex Bentley who led all scorers with 19. (Alex who??? - Penn State product). Now that I think of it, shouldn't WE be called the Dream team with this outstanding record this year? I think we should....

Back to the game, I remember the game being kind of close until the 3rd quarter when we all had an Epiphanny - Prince, that is, who came in and was on fire dumping in a quick 9 points. I remember thinking how tired I was and by not taking notes, I was unaware how our awesome Sky team suddenly had a nearly 20 point lead...and I didn't care. OUR team had a 20 point lead! I remember Allie Quigley coming in off the bench and making an immediate impact and adding 9 points while her DePaul fans cheered wildly from a skybox nearby to where I was sitting in the 2nd half. QUICK QUICK QUICK, Quigley - loved it! Tamera Young also played great in her nearly 20 minutes of play scoring 12 points. T-Young, T-Young, T-Young, TERRIFIC! Quigley and Young scored more points from off the bench than some starters for Atlanta! DREAM DREAM DREAM ON...Final Score Chicago Sky 85, Atlanta Dream 68. WIN WIN WIN! Beast of the game award goes to Sylvia Fowles - that Sky hook shot alone makes you worthy!

Yes, Chicago Sky's sweet dreams keep coming true, our coaches and players keep coming through, and the playoffs are in our future...TOO TOO TOO... Awesome. GO SKY!
