Is it just me or does it feel like the Bears are on strike along with the rest of Chicago's schools, hockey team, and even the venerable Chicago Symphony Orchestra. I know they're not on strike at Soldier Field, but it sure feels like we haven't seen them play in forever. And when they do play, WE LOVE IT! I guess when you're winning it doesn't matter if you play on Monday night, Thursday night, Sunday or noon or even 3pm. It's just we want our Bears to play a more stable schedule so we can get our Beers, wings, flamin' hot cheetos and everything else all set up for the NOON game on Sunday. Other than golfing, which I think many people will be doing tomorrow in lieu of the Bears not playing again on a beautiful Sunday early afternoon (which by the way is great for those of us in the pro golf business) it will be miserable for those of us who love watching and rooting on Da Bears....our nooner if you will. The only thing that makes most of the other games interesting is keeping up with the scores for all our football pools....fantasy and otherwise. Let's just say my group's football pool paid for my Friday trip to Indianapolis to watch Tamika Catchings and the Indiana Fever lambaste the 2011 WNBA champs - the Minnesota Lynx. Won the last two weeks in a row by making picks, ranking who is most likely to win, and to be honest, not putting a lot of hard work into my picks...just going with my first instincts and it's paid off big time. Going for the hat trick this week in my pool which will make a lot of people (yes mostly men) mad...and I love it! Thanks Team Norty for the free trip to Indy!
So, we head into another unBEARable Sunday - what's a girl to do - ROOT ROOT ROOT for the INDIANA FEVER until my beloved Bears play on Monday night...and keep a close watch on the other NFL scores and hope for that hat trick! GO FEVER - GO BEARS!
