Slightly off the vintage beaten path: Lenny & Me

Lenny-002.jpg

Typically when one thinks of Milwaukee Avenue vintage, U.S. #1 and Store B crop up. But if you walk a few more feet downtown, you can find another shop replete with its own finds and a delightful shopping experience in its own right.

Lenny & Me is one of those vintage shops that is completely dedicated to presentation. When you're selling one-of-a-kind finds in your shop, organization is key -- even the most seasoned hunter gets sick of tearing though bins of clothes. And the necessary attention to detail is just what you'll find here.

The main rack is a time-line of ladies' dresses, organized according to decade, with a special section for summer dresses at the front. If you're looking for bright and kicky frocks in the vein of 60s and 70s over-the-top prints, this is the place to go.

Personally, I was the most impressed by the vintage accessories and items from local artists. The shoes, handbags and hell of a lot of cowboy boots are stocked well enough to have something for everyone, not to mention the men's belt buckles and cuff links. The back room is dedicated entirely to local art, jewelry and clothes; two standouts are Megan Lee Designs and spinalfusion. Both have their own Etsy shop, so if you can't make it out to Milwaukee you can always visit them online.

Interested in seeing more? Check out the photos below. My guess is you'll find at least one bright item of clothing or bauble to help complete your summer wardrobe.
