All that changed at the 2001 Academy Awards, when Julia Roberts took home her first Oscar. However, the little golden man she clutched in her greedy fist wasn't the only reason for the buzz she made that night. Instead, many in the press were gushing over the black and white vintage Valentino gown she had selected for the affair.
Renee Zellweger chose to wear vintage that year as well, looking stunning (and I say this grudgingly, girlfriend needs a hoagie) in a canary yellow Jean Desses gown. And just like that, vintage dress made its smashing debut on the red carpet.
Here are some of the best vintage successes amongst the glitterati this decade; let's hope the next ten years are even more fabulous.

Spot-on list, Lindsey. I love that you included Emma Watson--she really came into her own, fashion-wise, in 2009!
Absolutely, she's perfect for re-claiming the British fashion scepter. She always looks chic and classy, unlike Kate-I-hate-sandwiches-Moss and Sienna-I-hate-pants-and-washing-my-hair-Miller.
Don't forget Agyness-It's-1992-and-I'm-wearing-the-entire-contents-of-my-closet-Deyn.
I would include her, but she doesn't qualify as someone who wears vintage well. I'm a little hesitant to include 90's grunge as vintage clothing, otherwise my black Doc Martens from junior high that I still wear would be vintage. Maybe in a few years.....
Absolutely great choices. My favorite is Renee Zellweger in Jean Desses, second, Julia Roberts in Valentino. I can remember seeing those on the night and being blown away by them. You've done a great job at selecting the best of the decade!
