Not all waterparks are created equal (duh). Some parks are better for older kids. Others specialize in family fun for the toddler set. There are waterparks that are entirely outdoors. Other parks are known for their amazing indoors offerings (a lifesaver for a rainy vacation day). Some waterparks cater to true thrill seekers (not me).
And some waterparks truly offer a little bit of something for everybody (those are my favorite).
The Wisconsin Dells Visitor and Convention Bureau website is an amazing resource for anyone planning a trip to the Dells. And I especially love this article on how to find the right waterpark for your family (a cute riff on the classic Three Little Bears tale). I encourage you to take the time to look into a few different resorts before booking.
We're partial to Wilderness and Kalahari (our kids are 9, 7 and 4). But don't take MY word for it. The recommendations that you get from neighbors and friends (or me) might not necessarily be the best fit for YOUR family. The age of your kids is a HUGE factor in choosing a park where they will have the most fun. The Wisconsin Dells website has tons of details on the offerings at each park to help you make an informed decision.
The article concludes with a great point: "As your kids grow, Wisconsin Dells will grow on you as a Wisconsin vacation destination that’s always 'just right.'”
