Why wear your Halloween costume once when you could potentially wear it dozens of times prior to the big day?
Check out the following super fun Halloween events taking place in Chicago on the weekend before Halloween (so your kids can stock up on lots of candy before the main event -- yippee!).
Spooktacular on Clark Street. On Saturday, October 29 from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m., stroll along Clark Street from Armitage to Diversey. Local businesses are offering trick-or-treating, games, crafts, musicians, jugglers and more. Be sure to check out the Scarecrows on Parade on display at businesses on Clark Street from Oct. 15-31. This event is a freebie.
Roscoe Village Halloween Parade. On Sunday, October 30th, the Roscoe Village Neighbors hosts a lively Halloween parade down Leavitt Street. Don your costumes and join in the the family fun. The festivities kick off at 2:00 p.m.. When the parade concludes, kids can trick or treat from local merchants and take part in a pizza party at Audubon School.
Trick-or-Treat on Southport. Chicago families won’t want to miss out on the Halloween extravaganza taking place on Southport on Sunday, October 30 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Last year, over 2,000 little ghosts and ghouls turned out for goodies, games, and spooky face painting. I recommend purchasing a $5 wristband that entitles each child to participate in all of the available activities.
And don't forget to check out all of the Halloween in the Parks offerings courtesy of the Chicago Park District. From pumpkin patches to Halloween parties, there is something taking place right near you that your kids will love.
