Family Yoga and Art at the Art Institute of Chicago

If you are looking for something Halloween-related to do this weekend, you have literally hundreds of events and activities to choose from. If you are looking for a family activity for the weekend that does not involve Halloween, you've also got some great options. My pick is the Family Yoga and Art Program at the Art Institute of Chicago.

This fun and innovative event takes place on Sunday, October 30th from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. The program is designed for kids age 6-12 and their parents. Participants can breath, stretch, and relax in this introductory yoga class. The practice will focus on traditional poses such as lion, tree, warrior and other poses inspired by a gallery tour.

The cost id $25 for one child and one adult. Each additional person is $10. Reservations are required. Visit the website to learn more.

  • This reminds me of the Mother Goose and Grimm a couple of years back where there was an upside down sign at Yoga class. I was expecting some upside down art for the downward facing dogs and reverse postures.

At least the Art Institute site had an explanation of the illustrated sculpture.
