Does your kid love movies? If so, you should take advantage of the Chicago International Children's Film Festival (CICFF) that opens October 21 and runs through October 30. This event presents a wonderful and unique cultural opportunity for Chicago kids.
This is the largest and only Academy qualifying kids fest in the U.S., screening over 200 films from 40 countries, including about 20 films made by kids. CICFF is an opportunity for kids to see films that stray from mainstream media. The event includes movies for kids of all ages, and the viewers vote for their favorite movie at the end of each screening. All screenings are accompanied by a discussion of some kind, and often the directors attend the screenings and speak as well.
If this sounds like something that your family might enjoy, I definitely recommend checking out some of the movie trailers under the "sneak peek" section on the website.
