Mom Congress Selection Lands Me on WGN's Chicago's Very Own

Mom Congress Selection Lands Me on WGN's Chicago's Very Own
WGN Crew

It was an honor! It was exciting! It was really fun! Friday as the Olympic Games debuted with their Opening Ceremonies, all eyes in my house were switched over to WGN’s Nine O’Clock news where I was to be featured as one of Chicago’s Very Own. Pretty stiff competition to go up against, but the excitement in our living room was at its peak! The whole family, as well as good friend Leanne Schmidt, were interviewed for the segment due to my past volunteer work in my community’s schools and my selection to Parenting Magazine’s Mom Congress. It was quite a memorable experience that we won’t soon forget and the WGN crew was amazing. We were surprised to learn just how much goes into producing a three minute- thirty second story! The crew was at our home for about four hours. Our producer Jenny Milkowski and her colleagues, Jordan, and Marcella were wonderful! Nerves were eased, interviews begun, and soon everyone was anxious for their turn in the “spotlight”. I want to thank WGN for the opportunity to be highlighted in their Chicago's Very Own segment. I am honored that my volunteer efforts and selection to Parenting Magazine's Mom Congress made the news. It was a truly memorable experience for the entire family. Thank you so much!
