Happy 1st Birthday Shine

What a fantastic first year it’s been!

Since my daughter was born, Shine has been my second baby!  I have been living and breathing its development.  I can’t believe it’s been a year since my very first event!

Shine’s Launch Event highlighted 6 amazing women (and dear friends of mine) sharing their infertility journey, offering insight and advice to women about to embark on their own journeys.  It was a night that was more than I could have ever dreamed; in my eyes it was perfect.  We all mingled and got to know each other, the conversation flowed easily, and it felt like we could have all been chatting until the wee hours of the morning - all embracing our commonality, what made us similar, what all brought us together in that moment – infertility.

My first event made it real.  Shine wasn’t just an idea, it wasn’t something I was just planning, now it was something I was DOING.  Shine was like my infertility journey in many ways, I was hopeful for success, while also bracing for failure.  Starting a business, especially one deep routed a passion, is exciting AND terrifying.

After my first event, I was ecstatic, but I had to keep the ball rolling.  I celebrated the success and then dove in head first into networking.  It has always been a grassroots effort, all about word of mouth.  I’ve been busy spreading the word to anyone and everywhere I can about what I am doing and what Shine has to offer.

Over the past year, I have been developing successful partners with other professionals also passionate about women’s health and fertility.  I am truly honored to have had guest speakers include Dr. Kristine Tohtz of Serenity Health & Wellness, Dr. Eve Feinberg of Fertility Centers of Illinois, Sara Connell – author, speaker, coach, and Jasmine Jafferali founder of Healthy Jasmine – covering topics from fertility 101 to alternative medicine to nutrition - all to aid women during their infertility journey.  I have offered special private events, such as a private tour of the embryology lab at Fertility Centers of Illinois.

I am excited about the new partnerships, speakers, and events that are already in the works for my second year!

Shine was featured in Chicago Parent, Crain’s Chicago Business, Examiner.com, Sun Times “Our Town”, and featured in an interview on Living Healthy Chicago just to name a few!

I am so overwhelmed by all the support I’ve received over the past year.  There are so many amazing people in the world, wanting to help and spread the word.  It is truly heart-warming!

I am excited for what the next year will bring and excited to announce that Shine will be launching a private online forum for 24/7 support, new membership options, and many many more special events!

Thank you to all of you who have made this first year so amazing and so successful – you know who you are and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!  I owe you all venti coffees from Starbucks and then some :).
