I am “1 in 6”.
I am one of the 7.3 million that infertility affected. I am one of the lucky ones; I am an infertility “survivor”. I write this to honor and support the women currently on their infertility journey.
I was open about my infertility struggle. I am proud of my struggle. I am proud of the immense effort it took to bring my daughter into this world. She truly is a miracle, I see it in her eyes every time she smiles.
My journey has shaped me into the woman I am and the mother I want to be. It has made me stronger and more determined
When life knocks you down it’s how you stand up that matters. Just when you think you are at your deepest, darkest place, it can be that moment that can inspire you to your life’s passion and true calling.
Infertility brought my husband of 10 years and I EVEN closer together, it brought be back in touch with an old high school friend (we ran into each other in the blood work waiting room, had matching IVF cycles, and our kids birthdays are 9 days apart), it inspired me to write this blog and to start my own support community for women living with infertility called Shine.
My journey has brought me to where I am today, and for that I am grateful.
It’s like that infamous quote:
Its not the destination, but the journey that matters most.
