What a perfect day for foiling AC45's. Steady breeze, and strong winds had the boats flying. Three fleet races were run, in very quick time with the speeds they were making. In the final race, they stretched the course out to the maximum (moving the marks South and North) which brought the boats closer to the anchored fleet watching.

Larry Ellison of Oracle Software giant, possessor of the America's Cup was in town for Chicago ACWS. He kept a low profile, stayed off the stage so the spotlight was kept on sailing, the boats and the skippers. And Chicago is his birth town, welcome back Mr. Ellison.

With Illinois Governor Bruce "Silent G" Rauner presenting the awards, Skipper Nathan Outteridge with Team Artemis Racing from Royal Swedish Yacht Club took first place in the Chicago America's Cup World Series. And I guess, your majesty, there is no second.
