St. Patrick's Day Celebration- Best of the Chicago Suburbs

As the official St. Patrick 's Day approaches this Thursday, it's difficult to believe that many in Chicago and throughout the suburbs have already been going strong for almost a week. For any other holiday you don't see a pre-game to a pre-party, to a pre-week, plus the real deal and one can't forget the post gathering to recoup and follow "Hair of the Dog" to get you through withdrawal of such a lengthy & intense celebration!

Even though Massachusetts may be the most Irish State, Evergreen Park, Illinois is the most Irish American town having 19,236 residents being of Irish descents.  That's 39.6% of Irish Americans in the United States! According to the 2007 US Census American Community Survey, Irish descendents top the largest European ancestries residing in Chicago, with 201, 836!

Therefore, you see if one lives in the Chicagoland suburbs you have responsibilities to live up to. This is no amateur holiday and so whether or not you have Irish running through your blood,  this day, week & month you do and you better be ready to eat, dance, drink, kiss and embrace such a fantastic culture!

I may not be able to help ease your hangover, but hopefully I may assist with your St. Patty's day plans. No matter where you live, here are the top Irish Pubs/Restaurants throughout the Chicagoland Suburbs. Simply check out their location, read their St. Patty-Day Specials and to make it even easier, once your location is picked take a look at the
Metra or Mapquest to get you there safely~ People this can't get any easier!

Duffy's Tavern, Utica IL (815) 667- 4324

I know this may be a little farther than the suburbs of Chicago, but I had to put it on the list. For being a mile down the rode from Starve Rock State Park and in a town with the population of 1,638, the town of Utica & Duffy's Tavern knows what's up. Sit a few minutes at the bar and you'll begin to think that your family has been a staple in this town, since your grand-daddy was young! No joke-their that friendly! Not to mention great staff, but great food and the Utica annual St.Patrick's Day Parade that Duffy's plays a major role in!

Still going strong from the parade last Saturday, they have food specials running all week, including Corn beef & cabbage, Irish sausage pie, Shepherds' pie, Irish stew, and an Irish Sampler pie (which includes the pies listed above)!
Join them for great food, drinks and an amazing time from 10am -2am!

Now that you've had a chance to pick where your Patty Party will be going down, let's add another fun twist! Out of the pubs listed above, vote witch one you would like to see Restaurant Rolodex girl attend on St. Patty's Day. You can do so by either commenting on the Chicago Now Blog or on Restaurant Rolodex Facebook Page!

Can't wait to see where I'll be saying SLAINTE come Thursday!
