Making A Difference Everywhere to host Leaders 4 Chicago 3On3 Tourney

(CHICAGO) -- Making A Difference Everywhere (M.A.D.E) will host Leaders 4 Chicago 3ON3 Tourney at Seward Park on August 1.  Proceeds from the three-on-three basketball tourney will benefit M.A.D.E. programs that target at-risk inner city youth ages 9 - 14.  Emcee for the event will be Stephen Bardo, member of the University of Illinois “Flyin’ Illini” and analyst for the Big 10 Network. The tourney runs from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the park, located at 375 W. Elm Street.

The tourney is broken up into four categories:  Men and women and teen boys and girls.  Teams are matched according to gender and experience level.

The event will help MADE meet the following objectives:

  • Raise funds to support M.A.D.E.’s year round programs for at risk inner city youth;
  • Provide the community support from several social service agencies;
  • Bring awareness in the community about leadership and strong family values;
  • Provide a unique event that will assist sponsors with increasing their market share, awareness and image in the community.

“This is a true family-friendly event designed to draw players and families from all areas of the city, “ says M.A.D.E. Co-Founder and Executive Director Theo Hill.  Hill goes on to note there has not been a tourney of this magnitude in the city since “Shoot the Bull”.

The 14-year-old M.A.D.E program operates in Chicago Public Elementary Schools in Hyde Park, Fuller Park, Brighton Park, Englewood, Uptown, North Lawndale, Bronzeville (Near South Side) and South Shore.   2015 programs are currently operating at Shoesmith, Hendricks, Bond, Smith, Gompers and Hedges Elementary and in Shields Middle School and Emmett Till Academy.
