Blackhawks schedule full of road trip opportunities

Saturday, November 16th or April 12th @ Nashville : Hands down...the most fun I've had in a road city. Hawks fans take over the city and drink the bars dry. Nashville has a solid and vocal hockey fan base. Make sure to hit Layla's Bluegrass Inn and the Broadway Brewhouse (order a Bushwhacker). I can't wait to go back. Hopefully, I can make one of these two games.
Since I returned from my vacation to Yosemite National Park Saturday night, my travel itch is worse than ever.  Of course, that could be poison ivy.  Anyway, since I got home, I’ve been plowing through the Hawks’ 2013-14 schedule, looking for an opportunity (excuse) to hit the road for a few days and take in... 7 reasons to believe in the Blackhawks

7 reasons to believe in the Blackhawks

Blackhawks, Red Wings series a perfect end to division rivalry

Blackhawks, Red Wings series a perfect end to division rivalry
Back in the early 2000s, my wife Hope and I had just met.  Before we were “dating”, we were just new friends who both loved the Blackhawks.  We had never been able to find anyone to tag along to games with us before we knew each other, so we’d often go alone.  When we met,... Read more »

To long time beard enthusiasts like me, the NHL playoff season can look like facial hair amateur hour. With that in mind, I’ve decided to catch up with the founder of the Chicago Beardsmen facial hair club, and my cousin, Ben Zawaski.  Ben is perhaps the most enthusiastic and dedicated beard owner I know.  His commitment to beardiness is unparalleled.  He can... Emery deserves chance to win starting job

Emery deserves chance to win starting job
It seems every year around this time, the Blackhawks and their fans deal with a “goalie controversy.”   This year is no exception, but it sure feels different, doesn’t it? I think the word “controversy” is a dirty word.  It denotes that neither goalie is very good.  With that in mind, let’s call the Blackhawks’... Read more »
